Fruit Bears

Fruit bears are alien creatures from the planet, Bearlandia, and they look kinda like a bear and somewhat of a fruit. Think of your favorite fruit and there’s most likely a bear version of it! Notable features in their appearance are an asymmetrical ratio between their head and body, big cheeks, boopable noses, uneven eyes, and their iconic silly expressions. The species follow the classification of regular fruits: simple fruits, aggregate fruits, and multiple fruits. Which means they grow the same way as regular fruits.

Behaviors

A fruit bear’s behavior can be determined by the taste profile of their respective fruit. Bears that are a sweet fruit are very silly and docile. Bears that are a tart/sour fruit are energetic and playful. Bears that are a bitter fruit are mean and quite easy to agitate. However, the fruit bears themselves are NOT edible! When bitten into, they have a strong and bitter taste. This flavor was observed from other animals’ reactions in attempting to eat the bears, and Goob accidentally biting into one (oops!).

Fruit bears spend a majority of their lifetime wandering, foraging, and socializing. Unlike real bears, fruit bears are social creatures and enjoy being in larger groups. They communicate through their body language and high-pitched squeaks (“Weh!”). Bigger fruit bears tend to have deeper sounding squeaks (“Wah.”).

Reproduction

Fruit bears have seeds inside them that provide them life. A fruit bear’s seed is slightly larger than a regular fruit seed, and has a radiating glow. Fruit bears are grown in a similar way that fruits do. When they pass away, they plant themselves by burrowing in the ground. Their seeds are left behind as the body decomposes, and allows new life to be grown in the form of fruit bear trees, vines, or bushes (depending on what kind of fruit it is).
